4 Days Nyerere (Selous) Safari
Overview
This 4-day safari takes you to Nyerere National Park, formerly known as Selous Game Reserve, Africa’s largest protected wildlife area. Famous for boat safaris on the Rufiji River, open savannahs, and large elephant and wild dog populations, Nyerere offers a unique southern circuit adventure.
Itineraries
Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Nyerere National Park
Depart Dar es Salaam after breakfast and drive (or optional flight) to Nyerere National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge/camp. In the afternoon, enjoy a thrilling boat safari on the Rufiji River, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. Dinner and overnight in Nyerere.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Nyerere
Spend the day on a game drive exploring the vast landscapes of Nyerere. Look out for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, lions, and if lucky, African wild dogs. Picnic lunch in the park before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Walking Safari & Game Drive
Begin the day with a guided walking safari accompanied by a ranger, experiencing the bush up close. After breakfast, head out for another game drive in different parts of the park. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.
Day 4: Nyerere – Dar es Salaam
Enjoy a morning game drive or boat excursion before breakfast. Later, drive (or fly) back to Dar es Salaam where the safari concludes.
